With over a decade of experience, he has received recognition from various Federal, State, and Local governments. Following in his father’s footsteps, Ismael continues the family business established in 1996. He also serves on the Leadership Mountain View Advisory Council and is deeply committed to serving his community in any capacity he can.

Santiago Islas Melendez was the visionary founder of ISLAS, a leading commercial cleaning company in the San Francisco Bay Area. With over 35 years of experience in the industry, Santiago established ISLAS in 1996, rooted in the values of leadership, quality service, and trust. Alongside his passion for building a successful business, Santiago dedicated his life to his family, friends, and especially his beloved grandson. His deep love for those close to him was a defining aspect of his life. Santiago passed away in 2017 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma, but his legacy, both personal and professional, lives on. His values continue to guide ISLAS, ensuring his spirit of excellence and care remains at the heart of the company.
